Of all the various costumes found in the wardrobe of Alessandro M, here is the harlequin at last. An Italian mask, part Bergamasque and part Venetian, “Arlecchino” wears one of the most famous costumes in the world.

An ambiguous, tragicomic figure, vulgar yet genteel, the harlequin’s costume tells of his history and his character: a humble costume sewn from rags that projects his image in an extremely elegant and imaginative game.” Part of the proceeds from this new edition of “Alessandro M.” will go to Venice City Council as part of its art restoration project “Omaggio a Venezia”
