We are just so in love with True Grace candles!
ARCO is a British luxury fine candle manufacture founded in 1991 by husband and wife team Philippa Nolan and Roger Biles.
Arco started life manufacturing bespoke candles for the likes of Calvin Klein, Heals, House of Fraser, Jigsaw, Kenneth Turner, Laura Ashley, Liberty, Margaret Howell, Molton Brown, Muji, Mulberry, Penhaligons, Pringle and Space NK.
In 2003 they launched the True Grace brand, with an emphasis on quality and tradition, all of our products are handmade in our factory in Wiltshire, England. Philippa and Roger have developed a special formulation of clean burning 100% Natural wax, derived from Rapeseed Wax, Beeswax and a secret ingredient, there unique blend is specially formulated to burn cleanly and perfume beautifully.
There are 37 fragrances, we don’t stock all of them, although we would love to, each candle produces a wonderful fragrance due to their 10% scent content– one of the highest in any candle on the market – and has an impressive burning time of 40 hours.
As pioneers of this unique natural wax blend, which not only acts as an excellent purveyor of fragrance but also its “clean burn” and lack of carbon emission, there fragranced candles contain no paraffin, soy or palm oil, True Grace candles are a truly 21st generation environmentally friendly product. True Grace candles now sell in shops all over the world from Japan to Italy, Switzerland to France, in the UK, USA and Australia!
We stock the most gorgeous all organic Hand-knitted Fruit Rattles which the lovely crew at Lark supplier for us. They are made by Mum’s, for babies and are all organic- so babies can suck on them! They can also go into the washing machines, which is a huge plus for alot of the Mum’s I know!
Today I wanted to find out more about them. Being that I may (well hope) to have kids one day- I love exploring the world of Mum’s and Mum’s to be. This is Larks story:
Lark began in England in 2005 when Allison Jones started to make things using the vintage materials she had been collecting since she was a teenager. Her whimsical range of hand-made toys and vintage dresses were bought by some lovely shops and so she decided to create her own business, combining her passion for craft with the skills she had gained through her career in publishing.
Today Lark is based in Daylesford, a historic country town in the forest, close to Melbourne. It’s a family business, run by Allison and her Australian husband Paul Matthews.
Allison continues to design and make many of the products herself. She also works with skilled local craftspeople, and with non-profit community groups, including an organization of women artisans in rural Bangladesh and a group of adults with disabilities closer to home in Central Victoria. In 2009 Lark was nominated for Home Beautiful Australian Designer of the year (yay!)
As well as the original Lark Handmade range, Lark also represents some of the best small design and craft businesses from the UK, Europe and Australia. Their unique product range is regularly featured in the media and is available at independent stores across Australia. (including our store the Greenhouse!)
You can also now visit Lark in person at our shop and showroom in pretty Daylesford, or shop online for the full Lark range as well as a selection of goods from other designers whose work we love.
I loved this story! Thank you Lark- We love you!
Enjoy!
Eva Solo, it just makes everything better!
Eva Solo, the ultimate combination of appearance and functionality. Eva Solo has a unique collection of award-winning designs with each product being created as the center of its own universe.
My most prized piece in the kitchen is my Eva Solo new generation solid stainless garlic press, which has holes that are so easy to clean! (Unlike so many that I have brought before)
It has space for the extra garlic cloves in the glass container, making a striking bench top addition when not in use. Its just so easy to use- you will become even more addicted to garlic in your salads, sauces and dips! Yum!
Enjoy!
