Sorry I have been away for seven days! I went on a holiday away from the distractions of electronics. However, today whilst cooped up away from the rain in Byron I was once again lost in the virtual world of design. As always carried away by all the beautiful things I found this curious profession…Miniatuarist Matchbox Label Artist. Sparking my curiosity was ‘Bad Banana Blog:Vintage Design’ with their recent post on Indian Matchbox Art. Here is one of the wonderfully odd matchbox images.
It never really occurred to me that people spend their days designing these little boxes of fire. So I found a few more of the tiny arty creations that are really quite cute!
And some vintage ones…
Enjoy the rest of your long weekend! Greenhouse xo
Unintentionally blogging twice in the past half hour, I just could not resist. A little morbid, this skull chair goes by the name of “Souviens Toi Que Tu Vas Mourir” or “Remember that you will die” by Pool, (their website is nearly as cool as the chair). This chair would have to be my favourite design symbolising the mortality of all living things yet! At first I saw the chair and didn’t realise it’s symbol at all, with a little meaning the chair simply becomes cooler. I’m a little bit late to show you all, in case you could have sped off to Milan, for the skull chair was a part of the “Nouvelle Vague, the New French Domestic Landscape” exhibition on April 12th to April 17th during Milan Design Week 2011. Sorry guys we seem to have missed it!
Until next time keep smiling and spoiling yourselves x
The Arc House, recently completed by Maziar Behrooz Architecture is a beautifully constructed, architectural masterpiece. The interior and exterior are both exquisitely designed, I personally wouldn’t mind an arc house all of my own. I can only imagine all the living goodies that would look spectacular in every one of the wonderful rooms, especially against the stunning open-plan black kitchen.
Essential for my imaginary arc house would be a clear Aalto Vase Finlandia by Ittalia, with purple flowers upon my kitchen bench…lovely don’t you think?
Enjoy fellow house lovers. x
